“LEGO Dimensions ‘has no end in sight”, says developer TT Games
Lego Dimensions is now available at your local game stores, now here are the lists of packs that you can purchase to complete the Lego Dimensions collection.
The LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack includes the videogame, bricks to build the LEGO Gateway, three LEGO Minifigures, Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle, plus the LEGO Batmobile, and the LEGO Toy Pad, which allows players to transport special LEGO minifigures and models into the game, as well as direct in-game action with the movement of the physical toys. Skylanders is one of Activision‘s cornerstone franchises, structured around yearly releases that include loads of new figures to collect. Disney Infinity has adopted the same format, producing new editions every year, usually introducing major new Disney-owned brands to the game.
Speaking to Eurogamer, TT Games’ associate producer Mark Warburton explained that add-ons could (and likely will) continue for years.
It’s unclear whether they are also aiming to deliver a price cut in order to make LEGO Dimensions more attractive in the run up to the very important Christmas shopping season.
However, despite the potential continuation for the game, Warburton is quick to point out it doesn’t detract from the value of the LEGO Dimension Starter Set.
“We have a three-year plan at the moment and we’ve got no intention of stopping there”, he said.
“We have created the technology to the degree that we are happy it meets our needs for the future”.
Level Pack ($29.99) This contains one character and two accessories. But if you are to collect just to experience the full content of the game, there is no need to purchase everything, the Starter pack is already enough to get more than half of the in-game content and then just focus on the Level Packs.
A few exciting characters and levels in Lego Dimensions would have to be Doctor Who, The Simpsons and Lord of the Rings.
