Lehigh Valley Weather: Cold set to move out
Rain chances will be at least 40-percent based on current forecast models.
Skies are forecast to begin clearing Wednesday, but temperatures will drop Wednesday night into the low 20s and remain frigid through the rest of the week.
“I would still bundle up”, Buccola said. Isolated showers (30% chance) are possible Sunday with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.
The previous record was set in 1931, when the average for November was 59.9 degrees.
Strong high pressure is situated along the eastern seaboard with an east-northeast wind in the 15-25 miles per hour range – with higher gusts – will take place across the area.
The next chance of rain in our area will not come until sometime early next week.
Tonight: Rain is likely after 3 a.m. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent with new precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Friday is the mildest day of the week as southwesterly winds ahead of an approaching cold front will drive our temperatures into the mid to upper 60s.
Clouds should move out later on Friday, with sunny skies expected on Saturday. Heavy rain is expected in central Oklahoma.
The rain will expand a little to the SE Friday and Friday night. Meanwhile, the northeastern U.S. will be dry and not quite as cold.
Valley residents should expect a “big change” midweek, National Weather Service meteorologist Chris Outler said Sunday.
TOMORROW: Quiet weather conditions should continue over the east… although a few coastal showers are possible across Florida and across the coastal southeast states.
