Leicester seal deal for defender Benalouane
In a squad that has previously been built on philosophies of “unity” and “close relationships”, Ranieri will be hoping the tall defender can fit seamlessly after signing a four-year deal with the Midlands side.
Leicester have completed the signing of N’Golo Kante from Caen.
He became new Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri’s first signing and the Italian quickly added a second new arrival with the capture of Tunisia worldwide Benalouane, who also put pen to paper on a four-year contract after the Foxes negotiated an undisclosed fee to lure him from Italy.
“I am very happy to be here”, said Benalouane, whose move to City is subject to worldwide clearance and Premier League and FA approval.
‘The president told me there’s a bid from Leicester and it’s good for the club.
Benalouane, who represented France at under-21 level, enjoyed a stint at Saint-Etienne before moving to Italy to join Cesena in 2010.
The pair join Robert Huth, Christian Fuchs and Shinji Okazaki in signing at the King Power Stadium this summer and they could make their debuts in Saturday’s Barclays Premier League opener at home against Sunderland.
“In this city, and in England, the most important thing is football”.
“Should I not go there [Leverkusen], I will continue to be happy at Inter, just like my family”. Between Leverkusen and Leicester, the best is Leverkusen; they’re a bigger team. I hope to use this at Leicester.
