Lenovo has sold over 13 million smartphones on Flipkart since 2014
This will give a side-by-side comparison of Lenovo K6 Power, Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime and Meizu M3s, all of which have a significant appeal towards budget shoppers. We will be looking closely at the Lenovo K6 Power in our detailed review, so stay tuned!
As the name suggests, the highlight feature of Lenovo K6 Power is definitely its large 4,000 mAh non-removable battery unit. Of course, it is an upgrade to the Vibe K5 series, the K6 Power comes with a metal unibody design just like it’s predecessor. Combination of Full HD display and refined audio output makes the K6 Power the undisputed multimedia superstar, delivering high on experience.
As per the Hong Kong-based market tracker Counterpoint Research, the share of Chinese brands has expanded from 18% to 32% in the previous one year in the Indian smartphone market driven by growth of players like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Lenovo. Priced at Rs.9,999, the smartphone will be available in Dark Gray, Gold, and Silver color options. But, so is the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime, a phone that was indirectly mentioned – albeit briefly – during the briefing: a phone that (Lenovo hinted) isn’t as good as the K6 Power because well, it has a meager 720p screen and no stereo speakers onboard. Although we couldn’t take the phone outdoors, viewing angles in a moderately lit room were great.
The smartphone supports Lenovo’s TheatreMax technology. The K6 Power comes with an “ultimate power saver” and keeps it running 3-4x more the normal time. On the inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octacore processor that is clocked at 1.4 GHz. During whatever time we spent with the handset, the display seemed pretty impressive.
When it comes to the specs of the Lenovo K6 Power, the device sports similar specifications to the Lenovo K6, except for a bigger battery. This means you can use the smartphone to charge other devices as well, which is quite useful.
The 13 MP rear camera of Lenovo K6 Power is powered by Sony IMX258 Exmor RS sensor. For selfies, it has an 8-megapixel Sony IMX219 camera with wide-angle lens and beautification mode and can shoot up to 1080p videos. Beneath that glass, you will find an octa-core Snapdragon 430 which doesn’t scream “Power” but will certainly get the job done with its 64-bit sensibilities.
The UI on Lenovo K6 Power looks very similar to stock Android. The Handset runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system out of the Box and supports Dual SIM with 4G connectivity.
