Lenovo Moto launches new devices Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus
The Moto G5 Plus offers notable improvements over the basic variant.
But, ascribe our briskness to these Moto G5 images showing up here. This time, the company has chose to offer a home button on the front, housing a fingerprint scanner. The G5 has a 13MP camera with phase detection autofocus for faster yet sharp phone photography.
Neither phone offers full-blown water resistance, but each has a water repellent coating that should at the very least protect them from the occasional outing in rain. Then you have the Turbo Power Moto Mod, a mod for wirelessly charging your device on a charging pad.
“Now coming to Moto G5 Plus, it comes with a 5.2” FHD display, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The Moto G5 Plus does away with the large display and features a much smaller 5.2-inch panel. This puts its pixel density at 423ppi.
When it comes to protection and safety G5 Plus is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and there is no curved edges or 2.5D glass. On the front, both the phones have the same 5-megapixel selfie camera. It will also reportedly come with its own speakers. “By utilizing 10x more pixels on the sensor, you can focus on your subject up to 60 per cent faster than Moto G4 Plus”, explains Lenovo.
Moto G5 Plus vs. Moto G4 Plus – Hardware: The Motorola Moto G5 Plus is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 2.0GHz Octa-Core processor, which is a significant upgrade over the Snapdragon 617 SoC which was a failure because of its heating issues. Most people wanted long lasting battery life, high resolution screens, and excellent cameras (duh) so that’s what we’re seeing in the Moto G5 family. The battery is also beefier, measuring in at 3000mAh. Only the G5 Plus will be sold in the United States. The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus are powered by Android 7.0 Nougat and shipping will begin in March. There’s twist-to-launch for the camera, for instance, and Moto Display. For the hardware, Moto has chose to go for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 Octa-Core processor which is quite baffling given the Moto G4 is powered by a more capable Qualcomm 617 SoC. The smartphone doesn’t give any specific or bold look which is a loose point. There were many smartphones which were launched at MWC but the mid-range king Moto G series made it to the top with metal finish outside.
