Leonard Fournette expected to miss game vs. Indianapolis Colts

The Jaguars forced a punt on the first Colts possession, taking a 14-0 lead when Bortles passed five yards to tight end Marcedes Lewis with 5:01 remaining in the first quarter; Bortles’ 52-yard pass to rookie wide receiver Keelan Cole set up Lewis’ touchdown. Fournette suffered an ankle injury midway through the fourth quarter of last Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, and although he would eventually be cleared to go back in, he wouldn’t return to the game.

“We’ve got to take some pride up front and block for him”. Except for giving up a couple decent runs early to Frank Gore and Marlon Mack, this was pretty much the same Todd Wash unit that devoured Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Houston in their previous victories.

“Obviously, with Leonard being out, the way he has been running, it has been incredible, and we’ve been heavy run in all those big packages”, Bortles said.

“I would probably say without looking at the film it wasn’t very good”, coach Chuck Pagano said.

Nobody should be sleeping on this Jaguars defense anymore, as they had another bullying performance in Indianapolis. Fournette scored touchdowns in each of the season’s first six games and had accounted for more than 30 percent of the Jaguars’ offense. “If you miss one thing, they’ll take advantage of that”.

The Colts didn’t make any other trips into the Jaguars’ red zone on 11 possessions.

“You never want to lose, but losing like that – at home – that’s not how you want to feel”, Colts safety Darius Butler said.

Hooker has been ruled out for the rest of the game.

“Going into the bye week 4-3 instead of 3-4, and at the top of your division, is a lot better feeling than going in there trying to scrape and claw to get back into the division lead”, safety Barry Church said.

“Sometimes, you get knocked on your ass, and you’ve got to get up”.
