Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy at UK premiere of The Revenant
Others confirmed to attend include stars Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter, and director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.
DiCaprio plays explorer Hugh Glass who is mauled by a bear and left for dead by his own hunting team.
The Oscars were never far from the lips of the cast, especially whether it could be sixth time lucky for DiCaprio who picked up the best actor award at the Golden Globes on Sunday. In the early ’90s Civic commercial, Leo calls the compact hatch a “great ride” and says “it feels like a jet”, which, I guess, is all the talking DiCaprio needs to do to coax a kiss out of the young lady in the passenger seat, who isn’t even a Victoria’s Secret supermodel. When you win the Oscar this year, I hope the first words of your speech are, “It’s a miracle!”
The movie has received 12 Academy Award nominations with DiCaprio up for Best Actor, Alejandro G Inarritu in the running for Best Director and Hardy up for Best Supporting Actor and the movie will compete for Best Picture among others. “Many more stories of minorities should be told and supported and financed”, he said.
“But I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to do a movie like this for the rest of my career”.
In the interview, the actor opens up verrrrrry slightly about his private life, discussing whether he would like to be a father one day.
Leonardo said: “We’re all very proud of it. It’s incredible to do a movie like this, it’s such an experimental thing…”
The Revenant will be released in United Kingdom cinemas on January 15.
