Leonardo DiCaprio jokes while getting his Oscar engraved
On Facebook, 24 million people engaged in 67 million interactions related to the Oscars, with DiCaprio’s win once again notching the most talked-about moment, according to Facebook figures.
It was the actor’s sixth Oscar nomination overall, following nods in previous years for What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, The Aviator, Blood Diamond, and The Wolf of Wall Street. The win came after almost 22 years of waiting for Leonardo DiCaprio.
“The ratings for the three and a half hour broadcast was down 5 percent from last year’s 24.6 overnight rating and would give the awards its lowest overnight rating in eight years”. The least-watched Academy Awards show since Nielsen began tracking Oscars in 1974 came in 2008 when about 32 million Americans tuned in.

He joked that “unemployed people” had asked him to boycott the show, “The big question: Why this Oscars?”. No, no black nominees, you know, and people are like ‘Chris, you should boycott. It’s like, “We like you Rhonda, but you’re not a Kappa”.
