Leonardo DiCaprio ‘was urged to reject Steve Jobs biopic’
“Steve Jobs” is in theaters now. “Steve Jobs” is worth your time and effort if not just to understand what it takes to be a success or at least how he became a success, even if you don’t always agree with it. OK, it’s now OK to take out your IPod and IPhone now.
Michael Fassbender proves he doesn’t mind a bit of friendly banter, as he quipped on the red carpet that he watched Ashton Kutcher for his latest role of Steve Jobs. It’s easy to see why his widow tried to block this film, but luckily, she failed because the final result is one of the best movies so far this year. Michael Fassbender as Jobs is all snarls and screams, constantly dehumanizing and demoralizing his employees and colleagues. “Woz” is seemingly Jobs only friend but his relentless perfectionism pushes their relationship to the limit. “I remember saying out loud, ‘God, I’m so knackered.’ And the props woman, who I knew from a couple of other jobs, said, ‘Honey, we’re here for a lot longer than you are”.
“They haven’t helped”, said Danny Boyle, the film’s director of Powell Jobs and current Apple CEO Tim Cook. I think that for whatever reason, deep down Steve felt that he was irreparably damaged in a few way and was not worthy of being liked or loved.
Any Aaron Sorkin movie, no matter who the director, invariably becomes an Aaron Sorkin movie, and “Steve Jobs” is the Sorkiniest yet.
What’s more, the insider revealed Laurene has been “trying to kill this movie” for years.
According to the publication, reps for Bale and DiCaprio were “unable to verify that, and Laurene Jobs did not return calls”.
“With Steve Jobs, I went after that role”.
The filmmakers nailed it, Sculley said, calling it “a goosebump moment for me” when he saw it in an early screening of the movie.
“We are a progressive nation in our hearts and a tolerant and I think magnificent one actually. we try to show that in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games”. (It’s worth mentioning, however, that the real Steve Wozniak was paid to consult on the film.) It is instead a dense and compelling character study of an innovator whose determination to change the world with products led him to spurn numerous closest people in his life.
Steve Jobs opens on limited release this Friday in the United States before expanding on October 23rd, and is the closing film of this month’s London Film Festival.
