Leslie Jones website hack under investigation by Homeland Security
On Wednesday (August 24), a cyber criminal took control of the Ghostbusters star’s website and used it to post photos of Leslie’s passport and driver’s license information and private images, including nude pictures of the comedienne, online.
“The investigation is now ongoing”. Also non-permissively inserted into her site, were photos showing her with Harambe, the African gorilla killed last June after a boy fell into his enclosure. The government agency’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement division is looking into the matter, but is not sharing any further details at this time, according to an Associated Press report.
Agents at America’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have reportedly launched an investigation into the brutal hack attack targeting actress Leslie Jones.
Jones herself has not commented, but this is the latest in a string of Internet attacks against the comedian. “I’m with you. -H”, Clinton tweeted at Jones Thursday.
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton was among those expressing encouragement on Twitter for the NBC Saturday Night Live co-star.
“No one deserves this – least of all someone who brings us so much joy”, Clinton tweeted.
Jones nearly quit Twitter last month after receiving a barrage of sexist and racist abuse and harassment from a number of users. Many celebrities coming to her defense as well on twitter.
Jones’ phone number and the password to her Twitter account were also displayed.
