Let’s go insane: Prince tickets go on sale
The report found that tickets were appearing on resale sites before they were officially released, as well as simultaneously on primary and secondary sites.
Ticketmaster announced that the sale of tickets would be postponed this morning, saying: “The onsale of Prince – Piano & a Microphone tour has been postponed and will not be going ahead at 10am this morning”.
Many fans had even taken the time without work work to buy tickets for the shows in Glasgow, London & Birmingham after this month. Anthony Kenealy added: “Why does this ticket fiasco follow Prince around lately”.
Fans have reacted angrily to the postponement as many had changed their usual morning plans to make sure they had a chance to try for tickets.
“Got out of bed especially to buy Prince tickets”.
Revealing his frustration on his Twitter account, he said it would be cheaper for European fans to fly to Minneapolis, get a hotel and see him perform at Paisley Park than paying a few of the prices being quoted. Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall repeated Ticketmaster’s statement, leading to numerous questions from the expectant public.
PJ-Yogi asked: “Any idea when?”
Last summer Prince played several dates in the United Kingdom as part of his Hit and Run Tour, which sold out in minutes.
The smaller venues are testimony to Prince’s well-known enjoyment of playing intimate gigs.
The star is still due to play his United Kingdom concerts on November 27, November 29 and December 1 – although it is unclear how tickets for the performances will be sold.
