Let’s Talk About Ernie Hudson Being in the New Ghostbusters
With all the familiar faces aboard, this film may just be able to attract some of the hardcore Ghostbusters fans that were originally steered away by the idea of a reboot. Now Ernie Hudson is also set for a cameo, meaning that all three surviving members are on board. We would have loved to see the original gang back in their own ghostbusting gear, but it is nice to know that they are still involved, but allowing this new team to take center spotlight.
Variety is reporting that actor Ernie Hudson, who played the fourth Ghostbuster in the paranormal comedy film, will be joining Sony’s all-female reboot, directed by Paul Feig. Dan Aykroyd is playing a cab driver who gives Kristen Wiig a lift. It is unknown if he is reprising his Winston Zeddemore character or not. Last October, he told Britain’s Telegraph, “If it has nothing to do with the other two movies, and it’s all female, then why are you calling it Ghostbusters?” Do you think this is, to quote Hudson’s initial comments, “a bad idea”?
But Hudson soon reversed course, telling The Hollywood Reporter in January, “Four fiercely amusing , foxy, females busting ghosts… phenomenal!” Together, they must save New York from a supernatural threat. The film, which also stars Chris Hemsworth, will debut on July 22, 2016.
