LEVELS: Boston High School celebrating ‘record breaking’ year
Head teacher Neil Hassell said: “We are delighted in the success of all our Sixth Form students”.
Over 75 per cent of A-level and equivalent results were A* to C and 60 per cent of vocational results were awarded distinction star or distinction.
Churchill Academy Sixth-Form is celebrating “outstanding results” today (Thursday) after students collected their A-level results.
“Out of the 600 students, 23 are in clearing but nearly everyone else who has applied to university has got into their first choice place”.
This represents continuing success, as the average point score per student has risen to the equivalent of A-A- B grades.
The school celebrated an overall pass rate of 99 per cent, an increase of two per cent on last year’s results, while 77 per cent of grades obtained were between A*-C, up three per cent on last year.
Macaulay Ealham achieved A* in business studies, A grades in economics and maths.
Mr Towse said: “These excellent results show that students have really made the most of the opportunities available to them at the college”.
Boys performed exceptionally well and many students are now looking forward to taking up their places at university.
We are also immensely proud of our 100 per cent pass rate for A-level for the fifth consecutive year, with students achieving 98 per cent A*-D grades.
The academy opened with 58 Year 12 students, the following year it took in 93 students and they had 148 applications for this coming academic year.
Headteacher Chris Hildrew said: “These are fantastic results from a great group of students”.
Principal Peter McGhee said: “It has been another fabulous year for us, I am pleased to say”.
Alice Ritchie clinched A* psychology, A* English literature and A in history and is going to Kings College in London to study history. Four students who were offered places to study Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary courses have been successful in achieving the required grades.
The school will be sending its students off to a wide range of schools in September, including Oxford, University College London and Bristol.
We will be updating results as we get them.
