LG’s K Series phones bring gesture-controlled selfies to the midrange
The devices are meant to be the successor to the company’s L series, which originally launched back in 2014 to take on the growing demand for mid-range Android devices.
According to LG, both K series smartphones have been designed with nature in mind, so they should feel premium, even though they are affordably priced. The smartphone maker has not yet confirmed the price and availability of the handsets. The South Korean tech giant is touting the glossy pebble design of the K10 and the K7, their photography capabilities, as well as the “premium UX” features they bring from higher-end devices. However, the prepaid carrier will sell the device as LG Tribute 5, the company said.
“Customers equate the LG name with great smartphone imaging technology and we are committed to delivering on that flattering expectation”, added Cho.
The LG K10 and K10 LTE with a slightly larger 5.3-inch HD (1280 x 720) display. Similarly, there may be some minor hardware changes to the 3G and 4G LTE models of the phones. While the former is powered by a 1.1 GHz quad-core CPU, the latter sports a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor. However, depending on the market, the K7 will have either an 8MP or a 5MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.

Phones don’t usually grab the headlines at CES, but that didn’t stop LG launching two new budget bargain handsets last night.
Both K7 variants feature a 5-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) resolution display. Our guess is that the USA carrier will opt for the LTE variant. The front-facing camera clocks in at 8 megapixels while the main shooter around the back is rated at 13 megapixels.
