LG unveils a 2.57 mm thin OLED TV, calls it “Wallpaper”
These are more conventional TV designs than the LG Signature W series, but they use the same OLED technology and, according to LG, will show compatible performance.
LG surprised the CES, the largest consumer electronics fair in the world that takes place these days in Las Vegas, with a revolutionary television proposal.
LG’s whole 2017 lineup can produce ideal blacks for high contrast images, and Ultra Luminance technology delivers more vibrant colors with an expanded color gamut.
LG’s line of high-end televisions has a new king. Onboard audio includes a 4.2 channel speaker system with 60W of power and the TV has WiFi integrated as well. Although the TV is flexible, it also has a glass panel, so be careful. One can genuinely bend it a bit without causing any harm to it. The TV is a two part apparatus with the main display accompanied by a Dolby Atmos soundbar below it.
The firm called the approach of putting the screen flat on the surface a “picture-on-wall” experience. Almost Art Deco in its sculpting, it has up-firing speakers for the overhead surround sound effects Atmos is known for. This soundbar also consists of the wallpaper TV’s HDMI inputs and primary guts.

The A1E Bravia series will come in three screen sizes – 55 inches, 65 inches and 77 inches. Despite its big size, it retains the thinness equivalent to a paper. It weighs 17 pounds. Unlike typical LCD panels, OLED displays emit light on their own, eliminating the need for a backlight unit. It attaches flush to the wall with magnetic brackets. They’re in fact thin and light enough that you can simply stick them directly to the wall itself and as far as we’re concerned, this is an even better feature to have for a niche television like this.
We’ve seen this in the LG Signature OLEDG6P and OLEDB6P series, both PCMag Editors’ Choices for their picture quality.
In keeping with LG’s other HDR Game updates, it doesn’t upload to your LG TV automatically.
