Liam Neeson Narrates A Monster Calls Teaser Trailer
His fairy tale life involves courage, loss and faith and helps him handle his troubled existence.
In its way, A Monster Calls is like a shadow version of Roald Dahl’s The BFG or Studio Ghibli’s My Neighbour Totoro.
There are shades of Where the Wild Things Are, but Patrick Ness’ script (from his own novel) presumably zeroes in more directly on young Connor’s growing grief as he deals with the impending death of his mother from cancer. The film opens October 14, 2016, and also stars Sigourney Weaver and Toby Kebbell.
The new teaser trailer for A Monster Calls introduces 12-year-old Conor (newcomer Lewis MacDougall), who’s struggling to fit in with classmates and grappling with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) terminal illness.
Although it doesn’t see release for almost a year from now, Focus Features has revealed the first teaser trailer for the upcoming fantasy fable A Monster Calls, featuring the sonorous vocal stylings of Liam Neeson as the title imaginary creature.
The Impossible’s Juan Antonio Bayona is in the director’s chair for this one, which recalls the stylish, fantastical and relatably scary work he did with The Orphanage.
