Library’s big book sale set October 1-4
The Friends of the Canton Public Library provide important support for programming, services, and equipment not available through the library’s municipal budget.
In the future, the sales will be more spread out to once every three months. The fall sale kicks off on the first of October. And all of that money is put back into the library.
The Friends of KCPL will be selling almost new and gently used books, movies, and music at prices $4 or less starting Sunday, September 27 through Saturday, October 3.
“We fund the children’s performers, jugglers, KPR (Kansas Public Radio) spots for the library, books for Read Across Lawrence, authors” fees in getting authors to come out”, she said.
Except for a few higher quality items that are priced individually, all hardcover and large softcover books are $1, paperbacks and children’s books are 50 cents. In addition, all DVDs are sold for $2.
NOTES: Members of the media are welcome to cover the setup of the event on Friday from 1-4 p.m. and Saturday prior to 9 a.m. There will be opportunities to interview members of the Friends and volunteers. It’s sure to be a great time for everyone – plus some great books for sale. The sale will be held at the Friends’ Evergreen Bookshop, 33 N. Walnut St.
