Rumors have been swirling about Lil Wayne‘s potential retirement from rap after he sent a series of tweets on September 3.
In an interview with Undisputed on FS1, Wayne explained that his reason for retirement has a lot to do with his ongoing feud with former boss, Birdman, 47.
The rapper explained he’d simply been pushed to a “tipping point” by his ongoing feud with Cash Money Records CEO Birdman, whom he sued past year for a reported $51 million in royalties. I have a family.
‘I AM NOW DEFENSELESS AND mentally DEFEATED & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fans but I’m dun, ‘ the 33-year-old rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., tweeted. “I didn’t take it down”. “We have bills. This is just business”.
When asked whether he will work with Birdman again if the business issues are sorted out, Weezy was quick to say a no. “No. Give me mine and I’ll walk off free, smiling”.
Basically, Wayne went on the show and shared a bunch of non-news, more than likely because his buddy Skip could use a ratings boost for his new show (Wayne provides Undisputed’s theme music).
“The artists I don’t know, the Kendrick Lamars and other people, I was like, ‘Wow, I didn’t know it mattered, ‘” he said in addition. He admitted that he had reached his “tipping point” over his legal situation with Birdman.
