Lil Wayne hospitalized after suffering seizures

The rapper refused treatment after having the first seizure but had a second one as soon as his private jet took off from the airport prompting the pilot to ground the plane after he became unconscious.

The Young Money rapper had previously suffered the same condition, and it was linked to the risky drink sizzurp (a purple concoction made from codeine and other drinks) which he is addicted to.

Derek Sherron, publicity director of The Chamber Group, said Lil Wayne was under the care of his own doctors and was in good spirits. The rapper’s reps have expressed their gratitude to Lil Wayne’s fans for their unending support, prayers, and well wishes.

This isn’t the first time Wayne has suffered seizures.

Lil Wayne suffered seizures in 2013 and the high-profile incidents left the hip-hop superstar in critical condition.

“Lil Wayne was successfully released from the hospital after being treated for a severe migraine and dehydration”, his rep said at the time.

“I’m an epileptic, so I’m prone to seizures”, Wayne, 33, told Los Angeles radio station Power 106 after a particularly severe attack back in 2013. He was reportedly rushed to a hospital after the second seizure. 1 in 26 people in the US will develop the seizure disorder, the clinic says, and an epilepsy diagnosis requires a person to have at least two unprovoked seizures.
