Linkin Park cancels tour following death of singer Chester Bennington
He was only 41. When Bennington heard about Cornell’s death two months ago, he posted a letter to him on Instagram.
Brian Elias, chief of operations for the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner talked to Rolling Stone about the celebrity’s death.
“RIP CHESTER BENNINGTON. We can never know someone’s pain. However, the investigation into his death is now complete”, a spokesperson for the coroner told Radar.
Bennington might best be known as the lead singer for Linkin Park. “An official statement will come out as soon as we have one”, Shinoda tweeted. Nor could he overcome the trauma of the sexual abuse of which he had been a child victim.

While Linkin Park and Run The Jewels might make very different music, there is clearly a mutual respect and level of sympathy for the tremendous loss felt by Bennington’s passing. The married father of six often spoke out against drug use in interviews. But when it was mashed up with Jay-Z’s “Encore” for a collaborative EP its success was only prolonged. And Bennington sang Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” at Cornell’s memorial.
Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park, wrote those words after the death of Chris Cornell back in May. And I wanna dedicate (it) to him. The title song from the album included the lines, “Who cares if one more light goes out?/In a sky of a million stars/It flickers, flickers/Well I do”. One song on the album, “Heavy”, opens with the words: “I don’t like my mind right now”. “Vocal beast! #RIPChester #LinkinPark”.
Linkin Park’s last tour date with Chester Bennington took place on July 6 at the Barclay Arena in Birmingham, England, according to Billboard. “Truly unique, humble frontman”. From the industry point of view, Linkin Park was consistently hit.
