Lionel Messi sends warning to Arsenal ahead of Champions League
Barcelona’s Lionel Messi is adamant that he will not be moving to the Premier League as he hopes to finish his career at the Nou Camp.
Gareth Bale was second to Messi after scoring a hat trick in Real Madrid’s 5-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna.
Enrique said: “It gives great joy that won”.
Barcelona’s Lionel Messi is the world footballer of the year once again.
Messi collected the coveted gong once more at Monday’s Federation Internationale de Football Association gala in Zurich, the latest dazzling achievement of a career journey which began when his family relocated from Argentina to Barcelona with him as a 13-year-old. “He feels loved her and nobody will take him away”, said the president, who added that Barcelona was a club that was “global, respected and also loved and with a mission to entertain”. “It’s incredible this is my fifth”.
Messi won his first FIFA Ballon d’Or in 2009 after winning Barca’s first historic treble.
Messi, who voted for his Barca teammate Luis Suarez, had 41 percent of the vote, Ronaldo getting 28 percent and Neymar 8.0 percent.
England coach Mark Sampson was beaten to the women’s football coach of the year award by United States of America boss Jill Ellis.
Reports show that Messi was in the limelight for the past 12 months mainly for scoring the winning goal against Bayern Munich during the Champions League semi-final and for running solo against Bilbao in the Copa Del Rey final. The only players from outside the two Spanish superpowers were Bayern Munich’s Germany worldwide goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, Brazilian center-back Thiago Silva, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus’s France midfielder Paul Pogba.
