Listen to Chance the Rapper’s joyous new single ‘Angels’
Although showcasing intriguing musicians on their way up was a fixture of The Late Show throughout David Letterman’s tenure, it’s something especially suited for Stephen Colbert. That’s what makes the announcement, by Chance the Rapper on Hot97, that he and Colbert are collaborating on a new song, well, surprising. Wait, what? The Chicago rapper recently chopped it up with Hot 97’s Ebro, and among talking about his upcoming music, Chance revealed that he got Colbert in the booth. “Me and Stephen Colbert have been working on a song together, and it’s gonna be released very soon”, Chance said. “He’s wonderful. I can’t get that deep into it, but he’s fantastic”.
Chance broke onto the scene with the critically acclaimed Acid Rap mixtape. His biggest project has been as a part of a band, The Social Experiment, working on an album that functions as a collaborative piece of music. And while this collaboration wasn’t ready yet, on Monday night Chance instead performed his new single “Angels” for The Late Show audience.
