Listen To Fall Out Boy Cover The Ghostbusters Theme
The official soundtrack for the new Ghostbusters movie was released today, and is billed as an updated version of Ray Parker Jr’s original anthem. Get the track instantly when you pre-order the “Ghostbusters” soundtrack on June 23rd (out July 15th) on iTunes, Amazon, also available on Google Play. Later claims from Huey Lewis were that it referenced his song “I Want a New Drug”.
Gone are the infectious disco synths and funk bass of Ray Parker Jr.’s celebrated 1984 chart topper. As Jezebel pointed out in their review of the new Ghostbusters theme song, the group certainly did put their own spin on the song and while they cannot be faulted for that, it is the overall execution that seems to be at fault, rather than the method. “It’s trying way too hard”, the review added.
“We hate the ridiculous pandering the feminist movement is getting”, wrote another.
But that trolling might not have the effect the haters want.
Is this just another nail in the metaphorical coffin of the Ghostbusters reboot?
Why do people already hate this reboot so much?
