Following on the heels of legendary Broadway actress and Frozen headliner, Idina Menzel, singer Lady Gaga had a lot to live up to this year in her Super Bowl 50 performance of the Star Spangled Banner.

Numerous tweets read along the lines of, ‘Now that Lady Gaga is finished, we can commence with the 23rd annual Hunger Games’. Her version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” is now right up there with Whitney Houston’s, in my mind.

Gaga wore a shining red suit and graced a matching eye shadow and shoes that bore a semblance to the American flag. The six-time Grammy victor first started making money thanks to her over-the-top style, insane performances, and popular music.

After kicking off proceedings on Sunday evening, all there was left for Gaga to do was enjoy herself and the singer certainly looked like she was doing that.

Lady Gaga has now joined the big names who have already performed during the Super Bowl.

Lady Gaga initially appears to finish the song well before then, but then decides to repeat the ending of the song again. Also, it was rather nice to have Marlee Matlin on board to provide a sign-language interpretation for the hearing-impaired.
