Little Havana comes alive with celebration of Fidel Castro’s death
Cuban-born television host and model Daisy Fuentes didn’t hide her feelings on social media, posting news of Castro’s death with a party hat emoticon next to it and retweeting video of people celebrating in Miami. Another walked up the street with a likeness of Castro’s head on a spike.

The president sought to use Castro’s fraught legacy to underscore his own efforts to bury decades of bitterness between the United States and Cuba.
The outgoing president has extended his sympathies to the Castro family, adding that “the Cuban people must know that they have a friend and partner in the United States of America”.
The reaction to the longtime Cuban leader’s passing at the age of 90 on Saturday has been mixed.
For school custodian Lazaro Camacho, the news sent him back to the six years he endured in one of Cuba’s more notorious prisons, Kilo 7 in Camaguey. “I want the Cubans to be able to protest without being afraid of what the government says”.
Putin added that Castro has managed to build a “free and independent Cuba” that “became an influential member of the global community and served as an inspiration for many countries and peoples”.
Castro shared a friendship with Trudeau’s late-father and then prime minister, Pierre Trudeau, with Castro serving as an honorary pallbearer at Pierre’s funeral.
