Little Mix cast their spell over Teen Choice Awards
Vin Diesel and the cast of Furious 7 shared the most touching words about their co-star Paul Walker at last night’s Teen Choice Awards, as they picked up the award for #ChoiceActionMovie.
The two-hour show, broadcast live on US TV on Sunday night, kicked off with a victory lap for the weekend’s box-office hit, Straight Outta Compton, as Ice Cube and the young stars of the NWA biopic welcomed the crowd to the event at the Galen Center in Los Angeles.
Vin Diesel gave an emotional speech and thanked Paul Walker’s daughter while taking the Choice Action/Adventure Movie award.
Supermodel Cara Delevingne scored awards for choice movie breakout star and choice summer female movie star for her first leading role in the drama Paper Towns, which was named choice summer movie.
“It’s Paul Walker’s family – his parents and his brothers – that kept us encouraged while we were making Furious 7, but there is one very, very special teen here, and her name is Meadow Walker“.
“Paul Walker is here in spirit with us”, said Vin Diesel, a star in the street racing franchise. The actor died midway shooting the movie “Furious 7″. Meadow was living with her father at the time of his tragic death in 2013. Britney Spears, with her blonde hair partially dyed blue and purple, was honored for being a style icon. While Jussie Smollett and Yazz performed You’re So lovely, a song from the series, the show’s Gabourey Sidibe made a surprise cameo, exuberantly dancing among the back-up dancers. Channing Tatum, Wiz Khalifa, Steph Curry and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1” also took top prizes. The final film in the saga – Mockingjay, Part 2 – is out in November. “So if we want to cry together, we can do that because it breaks my heart”. “It’s coming to an end and it’s really sad”, said Hutcherson.
