Liverpool FC have set the standard for the rest of the season
You’d be forgiven for thinking that all is rosy in Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool garden at this moment in time. That’s me. It’s very nice, thank you very much.
Things will not get any easier as Leicester try to juggle the demands of the Champions League, which begins for them this week with a trip to face Club Brugge.
“When you play in a stadium like Anfield, you want to give your best and get an ovation at the end, so I tried to do that”, the 24-year-old said after admitting he thrived on the adulation during his home debut. Liverpool managed to weather the storm and secured all three points when Adam Lallana and Firmino scored in the second half. “You don’t say it, but I can hear it, even when I’m not a native speaker – ‘Are you sure?'”

– Liverpool have won more games against reigning Premier League champions than any other side has (20).
“We can’t take it away from them, they were clearly the better team”, said Drinkwater.
“We knew we had to do the job today and that is what we did”, Klopp said. “It made sense to show the new stand to the boys a little bit earlier because it’s really so different, so big, so nice, everything”.
It was another inspired display from the speedster in what was an authoritative team showing; Claudio Ranieri conceding Liverpool had been superior in every department.
Leicester only lost once last season after being beaten in the corresponding fixture on Boxing Day (December 26) but have now been defeated in two of their four opening league games. One of our strengths last season was, when we lost a match, we had a very good reaction.
First-half goals by Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane put Liverpool 2-0 up, A goal from Jamie Vardy put the Foxes back in the game before half time.
“They deserved to win because they created so many more chances than us”.
