Liverpool have been offered the chance to sign former AC Milan
Liverpool have reportedly been offered Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato – following reports earlier this month that a deal had been agreed. Apparently, Tottenham Hotspur did not get the message and are making serious moves to bring the former Milan star to London instead.
Tottenham are not alone in apparently wanting him as Arsenal and Liverpool have also been sounded out about taking Pato, who has 27 caps for Brazil.
Pato is now on loan at Sao Paulo in his native Brazil and has been in fine form in the current campaign, scoring 10 goals as well as registering five assists in 32 appearances for the club.
But The Sun claim Spurs have won the race for the 26-year-old, and will complete a £10million deal ahead of the January transfer window.
For Pato, a return to Europe would be a welcome one, with the striker having turned out for AC Milan from 2007 until 2012, but failed to match the expectations surrounding him.
However, both Premier League sides could face stiff competition from Spurs, who are keen on strengthening their attack in January after missing out on Saido Berahino over the summer.
