Liverpool: Lazio eye Sakho
A report claims that Serie A side Lazio are interested in signing Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho this summer.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, as reported by the Star, the club have offered the centre-back to Lazio, as Brendan Rodgers continues to reshape his squad after the disappointment of last season both domestically and in Europe.
With an eye on next summer’s European Championship in France, it has been claimed that the defender has asked his agent to find a new club for him where he will be a certain starter next season.
The French global arrived in Merseyside in 2013 from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, but is yet to establish himself at the heart of the Reds defence thanks to a number of injuries which has interrupted his progression.
Sakho’s ferociously powerful and has all the defensive attributes needed, while his ability on the ball (while technically unconventional) is also strong.
Any move will come as a shock for Liverpool fans, with Sakho widely seen as the second best centre-back at Anfield behind Martin Skrtel.
On Twitter, Pearce further suggested today that there is no interest selling Sakho this summer, which-when you put this two and two together-rather suggests there’s nothing to the story.
Should Liverpool do everything they can to keep Sakho?
