Liverpool loan goalkeeper Vigouroux to Swindon Town
Vigouroux, a regular in Liverpool’s Under-21s side last season after moving from Tottenham, told the Robins’ website: “I thought I did well last season and hopefully I’ll kick on again this season at Swindon”.
Vigouroux played for the League One side in Sunday’s friendly against the Reds – impressing for all but the shot which saw Sheyi Ojo score the victor.
“You could see the talent the boy has and the problem is there are many teams in the Championship that want him”.
The County Ground boss believes that he has enough options at the back with the addition of the 20-year-old, as well as the acquisition of Liverpool youth product Jordan Williams on loan earlier in the transfer window. I’ve just got to get my head down and try and impress everyone.
Vigouroux is one of a number of new arrivals at Swindon this summer.
Youngster Jordan Turnbull has now officially returned to Swindon Town for a loan spell for 2015-16.
Lloyd James has also joined troubled Blackpool, while Vigouroux’s key goalkeeping rival Danny Ward is now proving his worth in the Scottish Premiership and Europa League qualifying rounds with Aberdeen.
The 14,500-strong sell-out crowd helped swell Town’s coffers and Rodgers will be hoping they repay the favour by giving his trio of loanees plenty of game time this season.
