Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp To Have Talks With Daniel Sturridge
The 27-year-old England global missed the Reds’ lamentable 3-1 Premier League defeat at Leicester City on Monday through illness and his long-term prospects appear bleak, as he has become an increasingly peripheral figure under the Liverpool manager.
“Jurgen Klopp is a great manager, a great person as well”. Win on Saturday, and they can put themselves in a position to stretch seven points ahead.
And front of line is Klopp himself.
Dejan Lovren is facing a fight to make Liverpool’s clash with Arsenal this Saturday despite returning to full training from a knee injury, though Daniel Sturridge was absent from training. Liverpool remain in fifth place, but defeat by Arsenal would likely see them overtaken by an in-form Manchester United.
The runner-up team of that season boasted Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling alongside Daniel Sturridge, and they were really fearsome and extremely fun to watch.
“Daniel was not in training for eight or nine days because of a virus infection”.
“We had an incredible game at Arsenal on the first day of the season”. As a player, you always have to think about where you are going, what you can do there and I had another options.
It was hardly the end to the month Klopp and his squad had hoped for. It sounds like he’s a major doubt for the Arsenal game, and that worries me greatly.
However, they have fallen short against teams in the lower half of the table.
This has led to Lawrenson predicting a 2-1 win for Liverpool, as he highlighted the two sides records against those teams around him.
“What has happened here, has happened too often this season”, Klopp said at King Power Stadium. Liverpool have shown that against Leicester. The defense left space behind for Vardy one of the league’s quickest strikers to exploit, which is unforgivable.
“You just know Liverpool will turn up and be absolutely fantastic and we’ll be asking why, why oh why, has that happened again?” he told Sky Sports. “We were not ready at the beginning of the game”.
“They scored the first goal, that helped them a lot, then the second goal, where there was no protection to Drinkwater’s volley”.
In his absence Lucas Leiva and Ragnar Klavan deputised but failed to convince alongside Joel Matip.
But injuries is something that Klopp has had to deal with in defence since he’s been at Liverpool. “They have to stop talking about it and start thinking about the next one, and [think about] not making the same mistakes”.
