Liverpool news: Roberto Firmino scores hat-trick for Reds versus TNS
Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino continued his return to full match fitness by scoring a hat-trick in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Welsh club TNS on Monday.
The 23 year-old Brazilian superstar signed from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim this summer was introduced from the bench as a late substitute to make his Premier League against Stoke City which Liverpool won 1-0, thanks to stunner goal from Philippe Coutinho.
The £29million signing was joined on the score-sheet by Danny Ings and Lazar Markovic in a comfortable 5-1 victory for the Reds.
Firmino’s treble put the Reds on their way to a 5-1 win.
Those players who didn’t feature from the start against Stoke were involved in the practice match at Melwood, including Lucas Leiva, Divock Origi, Mamadou Sakho, Kolo Toure and goalkeeper Adam Bogdan.
Firmino returned to Liverpool FC training a bit later than most of the squad due to his involvement with the Brazil Copa America squad and thus, is some weeks behind his team mates in terms of fitness.
His first goal against TNS came after a fine run from Alberto Moreno, with the Spaniard teeing him up for an easy finish.
The Reds are next in action in the Premier League when they take on Bournemouth at Anfield next weekend.
