Liverpool’s Borini set for Fiorentina
Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is reportedly in talks over a move to Fiorentina, according to reports from talkSPORT.
Following the arrival of Christian Benteke, Danny Ings and Divock Origi this summer, the former Chelsea and Swansea man has slipped even further down the pecking order and a return to Italy looks on the cards.
It’s well known that Borini is surplus to requirements at Anfield, where he has scored just three goals and made 38 appearances in three years, but the Reds have so far struggled to find a buyer.
Not so promising is the suggestion that now that Liverpool have maybe found a potential buyer Borini would like to play for, Liverpool are the ones stopping a deal being completed quickly by demanding more money for him.
Borini, 24, is set to make a permanent switch to La Viola, who were in England on Wednesday for a friendly against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Italian striker had a successful season on loan with Sunderland in the 2013/14 season and helped keep them away from relegation as well as scoring in the Capital One Cup final.
Fiorentina finished the 2014-15 season in fourth place in Serie A.
