Liverpool’s Ojo set for Wolves loan
A number of Championship clubs are thought to have sounded out Liverpool about a loan move for Ojo, but Wolves are leading the race to land the England Under-18 global.
Speaking to the Wolves official site, Ojo said: “I’m looking forward to the upcoming season”.
He scored his first ever senior goal in Brendan Rodger’s side’s friendly win at Swindon Town on Sunday.
Ojo is set to become Wolves’ second new signing in the last 48 hours after agreeing a deal to sign Adam Le Fondre on a season-long loan deal from Cardiff City.
On the surface, Loans are generally a good thing, but the reality is that if an attacking player is good enough he’ll skip the loan process and go straight into the first team. It’s got great facilities.
“Everything’s going well, I’m just looking forward to starting the season at the weekend”.
Ojo moved to Merseyside for a big fee from the Dons academy as a 14-year-old.
But it is Wolves that have won the race for his signature, with the Reds agreeing to let the 18-year-old spend a year at the Molineux Stadium in order to gain some more first-team experience.
Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo is undergoing a medical at Wolverhampton Wanderers, HITC Sport understands. He’s out-and-out pace and power, he’s very direct, he’s got the ability to beat people one v one.
“Even though he’s very young, he’s well rounded, his parents are very supportive and we think he’ll be a very good fit for us”.
