Liverpool transfer news: Reds made offer for Claudio Marchisio, says Juventus
Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed Liverpool’s interest in the midfielder, but revealed that it dates back to the summer under Brendan Rodgers, where the Italian side rejected an offer for their star. “The South Americans players all made their comeback from their respective national teams and I am sure Dybala will find space during the match”.
It is unclear whether the approach which Marotta claims was made before or after Jurgen Klopp took over as Liverpool manager.
“I’m not interested, I’ve just signed a contract extension and I’ve just come back from injury”, he told Sky Sports Italia.
“We have renewed with him, our focus is strong and I think Claudio’s first thought is to finish his career here”.
“We received formal proposals from top clubs for Pogba, but we rejected them out of hand”, Marotta said.
Klopp’s Liverpool meanwhile played out a 0-0 draw on Saturday away at Tottenham Hotspur, while they are next in action this coming Thursday night when Russian outfit Rubin Kazan travel to Anfield for a Europa League group stage match. We were a little bit nervous when we got the ball because the pulse was a little too high at this moment. “We need to improve but after working with the players for three days I am completely satisfied”.
