Liverpool Unveil New Signing Roberto Firmino After Melwood Arrival
Coutinho will link up with his national team colleague Roberto Firminho following the playmaker’s £29m move from Hoffenheim this season.
It has taken Firmino several weeks to arrive at the club after the completion of the deal because of his participation in the recent Copa America competition.
Firmino will he hoping he can get among the goals for his new club at the start of the season as the Reds have struggled in that department since Luis Suarez’ departure to Barcelona last summer and the numerous injuries to Daniel Sturridge.
Firmino won’t meet all of his Liverpool team-mates today but he was introduced to the northern weather. Can scored a goal in his sides opening game and provided an assist in the second group game.
The deal agreed for attacking midfielder Firmino could rise to £29 million in total due to add-ons, but earlier this month – he insisted that he is unfazed by the price tag on his shoulders.
The 23-year-old was snapped leaving his digs in the city for the club’s Melwood training ground this morning.
Firmino, like Brazil teammate Philippe Coutinho and imminent new signing Christian Benteke, will not jet out to Australia to join the Reds on their pre-season tour.
He added: “You can have all your analysis and statistics, but sometimes the most important line is the communication, so we’ll see how they feel”.
