Liverpool: Valencia ace rebuffs Reds talk
Negredo caught the eye during his time in England with Man City, but was loaned to Valencia last summer in a deal that saw Los Che complete a permanent 27million euros move.
However, Negredo told reporters on Thursday: “From the first day after last season ended, my mind has been focused on Valencia“.
That deal is odd in more ways than one, but it ultimately leaves Valencia with a player who struggled that they could sell despite only just signing. The Metro state that they will have to pay City a further £10m in 2016, and that the club wants to spend their money on a player that will be more prolific in front of goal.
However, Estadio Deportivo in Spain suggest Valencia are already regretting the transfer and asked Sevilla if they wanted him.
“There’s a lot of talk and I want to end it here and now. They’ve just exercised the purchase option and it would be unusual, but in football anything can happen”.
‘I’m here to show my face in public and put an end to everything that’s being said, most of which isn’t true… that I’ve been missing… whether I’m being professional…
The club, meanwhile, has loaned Argentinian winger Federico Cartabia to Deportivo La Coruna for the 2015-16 campaign, subject to a medical.
The striker scored nine goals in 32 Premier League appearances as he helped City to win the top-flight crowed ahead of Liverpool.
Cartabia joined Valencia’s youth section in 2006 from Rosario Central.
The Gunners chief central striking weapon, Olivier Giroud, was impressive in patches last term but the Frenchman’s tally of 58 goals in 134 appearances could hardly be considered prolific. Valencia finished fourth in La Liga in the 2014-15 campaign and will play in next season’s Champions League.
