Local pastors share hope in Billy Graham’s message

There will be many dignitaries from all over the world coming to Charlotte in the coming days.

DeMoss said Graham spent his final months in and out of consciousness.

The 2,300 invitations include President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and the living former US presidents, George H.W. Bush and his son, George W. Bush, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, DeMoss said.

Billy Graham long had a home in the North Carolina mountains near Montreat, which his nephew described as “so far away from town paths that you have to know where the turns are to get to it”.

“It will be their gravesite, and that one patch of grass is sitting there waiting for him to lie there”, said Sandra Corley, who visited the library to pay her respects to Graham.

He was tasked with asking Graham to give the sermon during a special prayer service and remembrance at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

“I was really overwhelmed”, he said.

Deyette explained that for various reasons, denominations are not as united as they were several decades ago.
