Logan Tops the Box Office with a New March Record
Regardless of which situation it was, Jackman’s portrayal of Wolverine usually provides a strong impact. The ending of Logan is also the reason why the actor decided it will be his last one.
For those who don’t know, in the comic books nefarious forces used Logan’s DNA to create a young female version of him – adamantium claws and all. He opens up to PEOPLE in the latest issue about what it was like to have Jackman, 48, carrying him throughout the film, as his character is often without his signature wheelchair.
The almost three-minute clip that appears after Logan is the first official teaser for Deadpool 2, the sequel to Fox’s blockbuster, R-rated superhero movie from previous year. That being said, based on the film’s success, I assume Fox will want director James Mangold hard at work on an X-23 movie ASAP. That sends him down a road that he never thought possible. His journey began with Bryan Singer directed X-Men in 2000. But the universe had other ideas. However, as Scott got injured on the set of “Mission: Impossible 2“, the makers had to go through the audition tape again before zeroing in on Jackman. That said, it’s hard to imagine anyone other than Jackman playing Logan.
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/Logan brought one of the most iconic superheroes on the screen come alive. The first and final frames of any movie leave a lasting impression. Which can be a hinderance when it comes time to recast and get back to making money. “Yeah, it’s exciting – but as they’re walking out, I’m hoping they’ve gone through the wringer!”
The big question is who’s on their list to take Jackman’s place? And I was so moved by it, much more moved than I had been the first time of seeing it. He would give an entirely new take to the character, both physically and mentally.
