Logitech has a colorful new logo, design focus – The Next Web
Well, even though Logitech’s latest restyle does look very similar to Lenovo’s new branding (it too has several fresh logos in different colours), it would be a little unfair to say they’ve followed other vendors in the market – Logitech says its been secretly working on this rebrand since 2013.
Logitech’s brand refresh isn’t just something the company cooked up on a flight between Sydney and Canberra on the back of a napkin either, as two of Australia’s politicians once did in the creation of an idea for Australia’s embarrassingly outdated and oft-delayed National Broadband Network project – something Logitech has had nothing to do with.
Today the company has announced a new logo and brand identity intended to bring a “colorful new attitude” to its products.
The Logi brand, the company has explained, will be found on ‘select products in existing categories,’ while the company has promised to launch new product categories in the near future.
“We’ve been reinventing Logitech, creating products that strive to blend advanced technology and design to bring you fantastic experiences”, said Bracken Darrell, Logitech president and CEO. It should fade into the background and allow human-friendly design to flourish and delight us.
The rebrand will see the company adopt simpler designs with bolder colors, aiming to go “beyond PC peripherals” with their products.
Logitech, the Swiss accessory manufacturer known for wireless keyboards, compuer speakers and the like, is launching a rebranding effort with new product categories sold under the shortened name, “Logi”. “We will focus on our growing Retail Strategic business”.
Alastair Curtis, chief design officer at Logitech, added: “Logitech has undergone huge changes, so we’ve created an identity that is an expression of who we are today and who we will be moving forward”.
