Lollapalooza Briefly Evacuated Due to Severe Thunderstorms
After two days of sun, the final day of Lollapalooza has been halted due to an approaching thunderstorm in the Chicago area.

Attendees are being sent to three emergency evacuation shelters: the Grant Park North, Grant Park South and Millennium Lakeside Garages.
Earlier Sunday, the festival evacuated at 2:35 p.m. due to forecasts of a significant storm, which eventually moved north. About 48,500 fans and 4,500 staff, artists and vendors were evacuated.
Organizers are re-arranging the schedule but haven’t released set times yet.

There may be more storms brewing tonight as Florence and the Machine and Bassnectar close out the festival.
Event organizers will talk with the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications to decide when it is safe for people to return to the music festival, which started Friday and ends Sunday evening.
