Longmont weather: High of 30 with a chance of snow tonight
39 inches of rain in the valley and 15 inches of snow in the surrounding mountains are moving out today, but chilly temperatures and gusty winds will stick around, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain could continue into the night and early Thursday thought the day should dry out after 10 a.m., forecasters said.
Southold could be in for a “messy commute” Friday morning.
Heavier snow is expected on Cape Cod and the Islands and may hit as far west as the Boston to Providence corridor.
The National Weather Service advises drivers to be especially cautious and to look out for debris in the roadways. The most recent models show the cape east of Yarmouth getting an inch or less.
Today’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of 30 and windchill as low as -13. There’s a chance north and parts of central Alabama could see light snow as a disturbance passes though the area with cold temperatures in place.
Mostly sunny skies are expected Friday with warmer temperatures peaking at about 44.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43.
Tonight, partly cloudy skies are expected with lows in the mid-30s.
A winter storm watch will go into effect from late Thursday night through Friday afternoon, the NWS says.
Rain that persisted on Wednesday has mostly ended and Thursday should feature mostly high clouds.
