Look Who’s Leaving Corrie
Welp, hankies at the ready because it is time to wave goodbye to Coronation Street hunk, Ryan Thomas, who has played builder Jason Grimshaw on the famous cobbles for fifteen years.
Ryan’s final scenes will be shown next year – but will he still be in the country to watch them?
“Ryan has been an important part of Coronation Street…”
Producer Stuart Blackburn has promised Corrie fans an exciting departure for Jason, involving his family as well as the Websters and the Windasses – ooh, sounds intriguing!
And Ryan himself thanked Corrie while also insisting the cast and crew are “amongst the best in the business”.
In a statement, he said: “It has been a great privilege to be in Coronation Street for the past 15 years. To be a part of it for so long has been an fantastic experience”, he told the Daily Mirror.
You might be blessed, Ry, but we are devvo’d to see you go.
So, with his ex (in every sense of the word) back on the Street, and rumours of romance between the two characters circulating, we wonder if the awkwardness that this would be bound to cause might have helped Thomas come to his decision to leave?
“The decision to leave was extremely hard”.
“We can always dream”.

And Ryan Thomas’ long-serving co-stars are devastated to see him quit the show to pursue new projects.
Ryan’s life off-screen has been just as dramatic – in 2013, he filed for bankruptcy after being hit with a £40,000 tax bill.
Ryan has been at the centre of a number of huge storylines, including his relationships with Sarah Platt, Candice Stowe, Violet Wilson and Maria Connor.
