Los Angeles Lakers Have Kobe Problem
Needless to say, Bryant is still not anxious. “My shooting will be better, we’ll be better”. Toronto had seven different players contribute to the 3-point barrage with Lowry leading the charge with all seven of his made field goals for the game coming from beyond the arc. It wouldn’t have made a damn difference.
Following the loss to the Warriors, Bryant said his current issues can be traced to a lack of movement; that he needs to play off screens set by the Lakers big men and find more opportunities to catch and shoot.
In Denver, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan each scored 18 points and Los Angeles beat the Nuggets to snap a three-game losing streak. Nobody really talked about the 15-0 record until last week when we got up to around 11 or 12 wins. “Keep fingers crossed nobody gets hurt and just keep on going”. But it is over. “His skills have diminished”. I believe it is over.
Lakers general manager Mike Kupchak revealed Kobe Bryant has already told him that “this is it”, probably hinting that he wants to quit the National Basketball Association where his playing for nearly 20 seasons now. “I think his role is pretty defined for us right now”. “It’s not going to be total dominance for 82 games”.
Earlier in November however he hinted he was leaning towards quitting, revealing that he had no intention to seek one last payday with another franchise. Complex’s Russ Bengtson wrote an open letter last Friday begging Bryant to retire.
“I was just frustrated tonight and it took me out of my mental focus”. Smith added, “there was no point waiting till the end of the season”. “You can’t have so much bravado and enjoy the good times and then have times like this and kind of cower away from it”, Bryant said. “At some point, the body just can’t do it anymore and Kobe’s body can’t do it anymore”.
Favale also suggested that trading Clarkson, along with Nick Young our Lou Williams, could chop down the Lakers’ payroll this season, giving them a better shot at keeping its top-three protected first-rounder in June.
“We’re going to approach it like it is, but that doesn’t mean it is”, Buss said of Bryant.
“I have not considered that yet”.
And hey, Kobe, listen it’s not your fault. Midway through the first quar ter against the Lakers, a Curry 3-point attempt hit the back of the rim.
“They neglected Kobe Bryant, left him to hang out and dry”, Smith said of the Lakers. To make matters even worse, they are not even the best team who calls the Staples Center home. And on this night in which the game looked harder than ever before for him, it couldn’t have seemed any easier for them.
