Los Angeles Rams interested in signing Peyton Manning next season
The Los Angeles Rams are reportedly interested in Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, but the veteran quarterback has already told close friends that he plans to retire after Super Bowl 50. Second, there’s the technicality of Manning being under contract with the Denver Broncos one more year, although either way he’s not expected to be on the Broncos’ roster next year.
If the Rams can’t pry Manning away from the Broncos or retirement, the team will start Case Keenum at quarterback, with Nick Foles and Sean Mannion competing for the role during preseason. It’d be silly and neglectful if they weren’t, after they finished last in the league in most major passing categories in 2015.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter cited an anonymous league source in his report and also noted why the idea is something of a longshot. So let’s keep in mind that Manning is far from the only name they’re talking about among quarterbacks and, really, every position.
It also sets up the possibility – even if it is remote – that Manning could finish his career in Southern California just as former Colts quarterback Johnny Unitas did with the San Diego Chargers in 1973 and former New York Jets quarterback Joe Namath did with Los Angeles Rams in 1977.
In 2015 he played 10 regular-season games and threw for 2,249 yards, nine touchdowns and 17 interceptions for a passer rating of 67.9.
Earlier this week Manning admitted that his right arm has not been as strong since undergoing four surgeries on his neck in 2011.
