Louis van Gaal storms out of EXPLOSIVE press conference [FULL VIDEO]
The reports raised the ire of Van Gaal who stormed out of his press conference ahead of United’s Boxing Day clash at Stoke City, which could reportedly be Van Gaal’s last chance to turn the club’s insipid form around.
Kanchelskis – who won two league titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup at Old Trafford – has laid the blame firmly at Van Gaal’s door, and suggested the United squad lacks leaders. He wished the journalists a Happy Christmas, offered them wine and mince pies, and then walked out.
“I think I was already sacked”, Van Gaal said sarcastically about media reports of his impending dismissal by the club.
Speaking of Mourinho’s sacking and his next managerial move, Wenger launched a defence of van Gaal amid speculation he will be replaced by the former Real Madrid coach.
“Do you think I want to talk with the media now?” Or with my grandchildren?
Raymond Verheijen has worked with Louis van Gaal in the past and does not believe the Manchester United manager’s job is in trouble. Or my friends? What do you think? “They have called me a lot of times and also Arsene Wenger is saying something about that”.
“But I think about the positive attitude he has towards the game and the fact he wants his team to play football in a positive way”.
Pressure has been mounting on United’s Dutch manager with a six-game winless streak that saw the club bow out of the Champions League in the group stages and out of the top-four in the Premier League. But I can only see that when I talk to you that you put it in your context. “That’s what I’m wondering”, he said.
“I want to say only that I have tried to lift the confidence of my players, I have done everything this week”.
It is not just Van Gaal, but Manuel Pallegrini at Manchester City is rumoured to be under threat, with Spaniard Pep Guardiola touted as a possible successor when he leaves Bayern Munich at the end of the season. I am here only because of the Premier League rules. I can imagine that you can write about that subject. “But four weeks ago, we were first, and we can be there again in four weeks”, added van Gaal. I think it is a bit disrespectful what is going on there.
“I am focused on Stoke City”.
