Louis van Gaal Urges Adnan Januzaj to Take on Central Striker Role
Louis van Gaal hailed Marouane Fellaini’s late strike as the crucial goal as Manchester United secured a 3-1 win over Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League.
Manchester United are the 4/11 favourites but Football-Talk can get new customers enhanced odds of 4/1 on United winning the game. “This kind of matches are hard and because of the draw I think it is much more hard because we have drawn Brugge and Brugge can defend very well, and they can attack also”.
“He’s never satisfied. I like that”, said Van Gaal, a Champions League-winner with Ajax in 1995, who is bidding to lead United into the group phase after their first season out of the competition in 19 years.
“When you score a goal then you are the hero”, Van Gaal told reporters.
Another two chances fell the way of the Netherlands global but a Champions League hat-trick eluded him, while Obbi Oulare almost embarrassed Sergio Romero at the other end. “It is still a game but, because of that last goal, it is more confident for us”, he said.
“I don’t care!”, he said “The most important thing is the win”. Van Gaal added “I have always confidence in my players but we don’t have only Wayne Rooney in the striker’s position”.
“(Fellaini’s goal) makes a difference because 2-1 is a very hard result.
After Depay had shot over when teed up by Rooney’s cute flick, it looked like they would head home with a narrow defeat, but Fellaini, nodding in at the last, ensured otherwise.
But Muller has confided in friends that he is interested in a move to United alongside Schweinsteiger who has been delighted with his Old Trafford welcome. He again collected the ball on the left, and cut inside on to his right foot before curling a delightful shot into the top corner. Every team that comes, such as Brugge against Panathinaikos, they won 3-0 [in the previous round].
Depay failed to shine in his first two matches for United – 1-0 wins in the Premier League against Tottenham and Aston Villa – but he made his mark on the European stage with his first goals for the 20-time English champions. I think he’s got four number 10s.
Brugge pipped to the Belgian title by Gent last season, but it’s players would seldom have encountered a customer as tricky Depay on domestic duty. We have to show our quality against a good team.
