Louisa Johnson is the victor of The X Factor 2015
The 17-year-old beat Reggie “N” Bollie to take the top prize, becoming the youngest person ever to win.
Louisa and Reggie “N” Bollie were through in the finals and their respective performances were indeed breathtaking.
Louisa wowed on Saturday night with renditions of I Believe I Can Fly and It’s A Man’s World, the latter being her favourite she’d performed throughout the series.
Cowell also heaped praise on his proteges for their achievements in the music industry since they first appeared on X Factor five years ago.
Reggie N Bollie’s aim is to use their journey to motivate people. I didn’t think it would be possible. Many have branded the final stage of Bootcamp cruel, with some hopefuls gaining a place at Judges’ Houses only to have to give it up later, but Simon Cowell clearly doesn’t mind, as it’s back for 2015.
In an interview with Refinery29, the “Body On Me” singer opened up about the struggle to get a full EP stateside, even though her first two albums have done real damage to British charts (2012’s Ora yielded three No. 1 singles).
She said: “I’ve imagined this day for so many years, you don’t understand”. Thank you to everyone who has watched the series.
“The screens at the end, where it showed all the success and memories they’ve had, it was all very emotional”.
A Twitter user called Bruce Daisley, who was in attendance at the final, tweeted: “Winners song next”.
The X Factor is set to return in 2016, and entries are being accepted now via the X Factor Website.
Following her song she laughed, saying: “That was incredible”, and told Murs: “Honestly I’ve been waiting half my life to do this”. “I’d love to do that with her, whether we write a song together or we sing a song together, I’d just love to work with her in the future”.
Louisa’s version of the winner’s single was more traditional and soulful.
“No matter what happens you’re a superstar”, Rita told her. You are not human!’
The night saw performances from Adele – who belted out hit single Hello, and Coldplay and One Direction.
