Quinyetta McMillon condemned Thursday’s murder of five Dallas police officers, calling the deaths “reprehensible”.
“Regardless of how angry or upset people may be, resorting to this kind of sickening violence should never happen and simply can not be tolerated”, the statement continued. Police were even said to have confirmed that the gun was still in Sterling’s pocket after he had been shot and killed.
“The shooting in Dallas puts us on alert”.
Before the shooting, the scene in Dallas was extremely calm, with Dallas police officers posing for photos with people who were in attendance.
An officer was wounded in the exchange but Jackson said the injuries aren’t life-threatening.

Court records show Sterling had pleaded guilty in 2011 to being a felon in possession of a firearm and illegally carrying a weapon and was arrested in May 2009 after an officer confronted him outside another store where he was selling CDs.
