‘That shotgun wasn’t to do anything else but hurt someone.
54-year-old Kevin Daigle is facing charges of attempted murder of a police officer.
“Please take a second out of your Sunday afternoon to ship prayers and properly needs to the Trooper and his household on this important time”, Edmonson wrote.
After the shooting, he said, Daigle wandered into the road and over to Vincent, asking if he was alive. But “his brain isn’t telling the rest of his body what to do”. The trooper received to the truck at 2:43 p.m., Anderson stated. Passing motorists detained the suspect and rendered aid to the trooper until emergency responders arrived.

Vincent realized the suspect’s vehicle matched the description of one reported driving recklessly and started talking to Daigle, who appeared to be impaired and was alone in the truck. During the course of the interaction, Daigle produced a shotgun and fired at Trooper Vincent striking him in the head.
Daigle shot Vincent in the head with a sawed off shotgun and, as he paced around the scene, some fearless civilians rushed in to check on the officer.
Sgt. James Anderson, southwest Louisiana spokesman for state police, said Vincent was in critical but stable condition Sunday evening, and Daigle also was in a hospital.
“All she wants to hear is his voice, that’s all”, Edmonson said.
Vincent has a wife and a son. “As carriers of the LSP gold badge, Troopers bravely embark each day across the state to serve and protect the citizens of Louisiana while fully realizing the inherent dangers of our solemn vow to public safety”.
